21 Cuts
Tobi, founder of 21 Cuts

Who we are.

I'm Tobi, founder of 21 Cuts. I was born and raised in London and studied Politics and Economics at Loughborough, before landing a job in finance. I spent eight years in banking and finished as a Vice President at one of the world's largest banks.

I liked the pace and I liked the people, but I always knew I wanted to build something of my own. So I started editing videos in the evenings. Friends talked me into posting the first one on YouTube, it did 200,000 views in a week, and the first three did close to 500,000 between them.

I did not want a career on YouTube. I wanted to make films. I am probably the only banker who left the trading floor for a camera, and I have never once regretted it.

I love making things, and I make sure there is something new in everything we deliver. Have a look at how I got here.

  1. Tobi on graduation day at Loughborough University

    Graduated

Studied Politics and Economics at Loughborough University. Not a camera in sight.

  2. Went into banking

Eight years in the City. The BBC came to film on the floor one day, and somewhere in that shot is the back of my head.

  3. Tobi on set, monitoring a shoot with a second operator

    Picked up a camera

The first three videos got more attention than I expected, so I taught myself the entire production process. The rest is history.

That's me. Now tell me about you.

Drop me an email or book a call. I read everything that comes in, and you'll be speaking to me, not a sales team.
